#8 Properly Playing ... Gemini's Mirror

While it's certainly possible that most players who dabble with Obfuscate play with Gemini's Mirror, only few I know risk playing it as superior.

Only usable before range is determined. For each strike made against this vampire, flip a coin. If it's tails, the strike has no effect on this vampire. This lasts until heads is flipped or combat ends. A vampire can play only one Gemini's Mirror at superior each combat.
Obviously, for 1 blood, it's quite an investment for a chancy outcome. But if chance is on your side (or you have nothing to lose), it's fun to play with it.

Below is the proper sequence of play, as clarified by Pascal in the VEKN Forums.

Context: Renegade Garou (RG) rushed Roger Farnsworth (RF).
  • RG - Weighted Walking Stick.
  • RG - no more pre-range
  • RF - sup' Gemini's Mirror
  • RG - no more pre-range
  • RF - no more pre-range
  • RG - no maneuver
  • RF - no maneuver
  • RG - declare strike: WWS
  • RF - declare strike: Behind You! to dodge
  • Flip a coin. Resolve strikes.
  • RG - gain 1 additional strike
  • RF - no additional strike
  • RG - declare additional strike: WWS
  • Flip a coin if tails were flipped.
  • Resolve RG's additional strike.
And that, kiddies, is how Roger Farnsworth lived to tell the tale of how the Renegade Garou couldn't do anything to him in combat.
